have now launched a fantastic new scheme two weeks ahead of schedule. You may already be aware that the HSE charge £124 per hour for dealing with any breaches of health and safety legislation . They often carry out unnanounced inspections, not only on construction and building sites but any other areas they consider to be high risk including manufacturing. They may even follow up on reportable accidents or complaints from the public or others. The Fee for Intervention scheme has already generated millions of pounds in fees.
The Fee for Intervention Guarantee Scheme
from TL Safety Ltd will enable you to claim back the FFI invoices issued to you by the HSE. We think this is another fantastic service from TL Safety. We have recently dealt with new Clients in Construction, Refurbishment, Warehousing, Manufacturing and even a Bakery who were visited by the HSE of which four of them were unnanounced. All resulted in the HSE raising improvement notices and TL Safety being engaged to assist with attending to them. Details of our FFI Gurantee Scheme can be found by clicking the link above.
To launch our new FFI Guarantee Scheme we will include you in our scheme free of charge for the first year for any new Client who takes out our retainer contract
(intermediate or above) before the end of January 2013. You must however pay the retainer service as an annual fee. You can of course join our FFI Guarantee Scheme after the 31st January 2013 but our offer to include you free of charge will have expired and you would need to add the option to your retainer package. Contact us for further details of our scheme or our retainer service options. Our Managing Director is a OSHCR registered (HSE registered) health and safety consultant and TL Safety are CHAS accredited CDMc and Worksafe Consultant accredited for our Health and Safety Consultancy and CDMc services.

balustrades, steel framed buildings or any other structural steel/aluminium products that are permanently placed in a building or structure covered by a Harmonised European Number (hEN) of which the above products are, then the company will be required by law to attain CE Marking by the 1st July 2014.
Companies that buy in lengths of CE marked steel that are then cut, drilled, bent, welded/galvanised into a product, will then become the manufacturer of that product. The onus is on the manufacturer to CE Mark the product
accordingly. TL Safety offer a simple step by step guide approach to getting you the correct CE Certification so you can meet the deadline.

BS EN 1090-1 introduces the concept of ‘Execution Class’. The Execution class establishes the required quality of fabrication and its level of safety and can be applied to the whole structure, an individual member or particular
details. There are four Execution classes with Execution class 4 being the highest level of quality control and Execution class 1 the lowest in general they apply to the following structures:-
Execution class 1 – Farm Buildings (structures where the consequence of failure is deemed to be low).
2 – The majority of buildings.
3 – Bridges & structures subject to fatigue.
4 – Long span bridges (structures where the consequence of failure is high).

The The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 were originally updated earlier in the year but were effective from the 1st October 2013.
The updated third edition of L74 takes account of the amendment to regulation 3(2), which removes the requirement for the HSE to approve the training and qualifications of appointed first-aid personnel, and to incorporate some additional amendments brought about by other previous legislative changes.
Whilst this may give you a wider choice of first aid providers it now puts the onus on the Employer to ensure that the training provider and trainers are competent to deliver first aid training. This will not affect the quality first aid courses that TL Safety provide for you and course dates can be found on our training page. Click on the photo above for full guidance on the changes.
